Women's Ministry

"Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would
fulfill his promises to her!"

Luke 1:45

Saint Luke UMC understands the importance of offering a variety of ministry opportunities for women in the church and in the community. Women provide strong and vital leadership in the life of the church. Here at Saint Luke we continue to seek new ways to support women of all ages.  Please check the church calendar and events pages for details and contact info.

A few highlights of our women's ministries:

Ladies Lunch & Learn

Women of all ages in our community are invited to this monthly meeting which meets every third Wednesday at 11:30 AM, at nearby Davison’s Steaks for fellowship, food, and a devotion led by Rev. Charlotte Brendel.

Jesus With a Twist

JWAT usually meets every fourth Thursday at 6:30 PM at Libations 139, a local bistro in Sanford. Women of all ages gather for food, fellowship, and a short devotion. Robin Showalter coordinates this wonderful ministry. Check the calendar of events for the complete schedule.

United Women in Faith

We have several Circles that meet regularly for devotion time, fellowship, and to plan mission activities and other ministry opportunities. Annually, we join with the United Methodist Men for a church-wide Christmas dinner and celebration.

Marigold and Rose Ministry

This is a meaningful mentoring ministry with young  and "seasoned" women, with a focus on building deeper relationships. Young women are paired with older women and they connect for support, conversation, meals, prayer needs, or special occasions. The entire group enjoys quarterly gatherings with special programs, fun, fellowship, and refreshments.

Women's Events & Retreats Team

This dedicated team plans special programs and activities with women of our church and community, such as the popular Vintage Christmas evening and themed Day Apart Retreats.

Love & Support

Whether it's in Sunday School, on the pews, through personal connections, or in small group settings, it's a beautiful thing to witness women of all ages caring and supporting one another at Saint Luke. We encourage you to find your place.
